Surf Rider Restaurant at Whitehouse Cove Marina Opens

Henderson is proud to announce the opening of the new Surf Rider restaurant, located at Whitehouse Cove Marina in Poquoson, VA. City officials joined owner/developers, contractors and the public for a ribbon cutting ceremony on April 17th. This is the 8th Surf Rider in the Hampton Roads area.

The four-month project consisted of a 6,000 SF building to include a 1,200 SF covered outdoor patio. The building sits on timber piles while overlooking the marina. Visitors are able to access the restaurant by boat, through the Whitehouse Cove waterway.

Colonial Heritage 5k

On Saturday, May 5th Henderson had a team of 30 runners and walkers participate in the Colonial Heritage 5k. The 5k was run through Colonial Heritage Active Adult Community in Williamsburg, Virginia, an ongoing Henderson job site.

Vice President Mike Van Sickel, Project Manager Jordan Anglin, and Business Development Coordinator Caroline Kelley all received awards for placing in the top three in their age groups.

Welcome Mike Willard

Henderson would like to welcome Mike Willard, our new senior estimator. Mike started with Henderson in April and brings 39 years of construction estimating experience. He has worked on projects all over the United States and projects valued up to $300 million. In his free time, Mike enjoys spending time with his wife and their cats, and visiting his two children. Mike also officiates USA Swimming and Virginia Peninsula Swimming Union swim meets.
